About Katherine

Hello! My name is Katherine (she/her) and I’m a graduate of the Grant MacEwan Massage Therapy Program (2008). I work with my clients to develop a treatment plan that blends well with their goals and lifestyle. I firmly believe in creating a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all my clients. While my initial training was in therapeutic and relaxation massage I’ve branched out since my graduation. Early on in my career I trained in Myofascial Cupping, a modality I incorporate into treatment depending on the desired outcomes. Shortly thereafter I trained in Schweitzer deep tissue therapy – a modality that changed how I offered deep tissue and therapeutic treatments. While living in Toronto I took a 300hr Yoga Teacher Training course, while I don’t teach yoga it did provide me with some new insight to working with my clients in a more active and engaged way. I have pursued several courses of training in Thai Massage, a great followup and tie in to yoga. Most recently I have taken several additional courses in cupping therapy and enjoy integrating this into sessions where possible.

Katherine is very patient and made me feel super comfortable. Would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Katherine is a wonderful massage therapist. She has the technique and strength to dig in and work out your muscles, but the finesse to make it pleasant. As an example to her massaging prowess, I’ll start by saying I’ve been to several therapists before, and have never fallen asleep during a massage: I’m usually working too hard to force myself to relax. The last time I went, I definitely dozed off! I’ve also received a thai massage from her, a new service she will be offering. I find her integrity in offering the service for free until she feels comfortable charging for it, when she could have started charging from the get-go is quite admirable. In any case, I plan to return for a paid thai massage in the future: even as someone still getting used to it, it was relaxing. As a final comment, Katherine’s community spirit is lovely: she offers a bath bomb to customers who come in on their birthday months, as well as donates any tips she receives to the food bank. I would highly recommend Katherine as a massage therapist, especially if you have pain, extremely tight muscles, or headaches.
