About Kate
Kate holds a BA in Health Administration from Athabasca University and a diploma in Paramedicine from SAIT. She recently completed her graduate studies in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is a registered counselling candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. Her professional experience has been diverse, working as a paramedic, 911 dispatcher, and health and wellness coordinator in multiple locations worldwide.
Kate has a desire to collaborate with anyone struggling with mental health issues or struggles in life including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationships, and self-esteem. Kate understands how difficult it can be to reach out for help and is committed to partnering with you to overcome whatever life throws your way.
With two decades of experience in the emergency services field, Kate understands the challenges and struggles first responders face. She is dedicated to working alongside clients to overcome trauma and obstacles that result from the sacrifices made for the job. Kate recognizes the impact of being a first responder on individuals and their relationships with others.
Kate identifies with Narrative and Psychodynamic modalities and her treatment orientation is grounded in Cognitive Processing Theory (CPT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
