About Kate

I'm Kate. I work with people who are ready to explore who they are beneath the noise, the pressures, and the roles they've inherited. My style is gentle yet direct. I won't shy away from the truth, though I know truth is rarely objective, so I stay attuned to all perspectives as we work through what's really going on. I'll help you strategize and build a plan, while also getting curious about the deeper issues that may be feeding what's showing up on the surface. I bring both analytical thinking and intuition into our work, starting with structure and then following your emotional pace as we go. I've spent my career helping people find their voice and build an identity that actually feels like theirs, free of outside pressure. I believe what looks like dysfunction is so often a sign of trauma that hasn't yet been named or resolved. You are not broken; you're carrying something that hasn't had the chance to heal. I see therapy as a collaborative process, one that doesn't end when the sessions do. My hope is that what we build together, the skills, the awareness, the daily practices, keeps supporting you long after. There's room for lightness too. Life has handed me plenty of hard moments, and humour has been one of the things that's carried me through, so it shows up in our work as well, whether it's a comment to shift the mood or a lighter way of looking at something heavy. Areas of Focus and Interest: - Young adults and adults exploring identity (gender, cultural, personal) - Adoptees and foster children navigating identity - Women who've experienced domestic violence or are redefining identity beyond wife/mother - Newcomers to Canada facing new cultural frameworks, racism, or bias - Young adults navigating family, school, or identity pressures If you're someone who values open-mindedness, who's curious about the world and about yourself, and who's looking for therapy that blends psychological insight with your own innate wisdom, I'd love to work with you. All it takes to begin is a willingness. You don't need to know how the process works; a simple call to set something up is enough. Outside of sessions, nature is where I come back to myself. I believe deeply in its power to heal, and in the stillness it offers to quiet the noise of outside voices and hear your own. Some of my favourite moments are simple ones: the beach with my daughter and my dog, building a sandcastle, laying out a blanket for a picnic, or in winter, playing in the snow together at the dog park.
