About Karen

Karen is a registered member of the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC). She graduated with a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alberta in 2010. She has worked with adults and children since that time and has acquired many specialty skills in the areas of neurological rehabilitation of communication, voice and swallowing problems,, literacy, oral myofunctional issues (e.g., tongue thrust), etc. Karen is passionate about empowering all clients who have problems because of tongue thrust, strokes, brain injuries, concerns with reading, writing, or math literacy, or progressive neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease. Since 2011, Karen has specialized in helping clients regain their communicative independence, improve with reading and writing, and return to eating the food they love.
