Kam is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). She holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Panjab University, India, and completed additional master’s-level coursework at City University in Vancouver in 2020. With over fifteen years of combined clinical experience, she brings a depth of knowledge and compassion to her work with patients.
She works with youth, adults, and couples from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, OCD, PTSD, addiction, self-harm, and life transitions.
Throughout her career, she has supported individuals across a variety of settings. In Canada, she worked with adolescents with autism in group home and school environments, deepening her understanding of neurodiversity and strengthening her ability to support families navigating complex challenges with empathy and care.
Her approach is patient-centered and evidence-informed. She integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She tailors each session to the unique needs and goals of her patients, helping them develop practical coping strategies, build resilience, increase psychological flexibility, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
She has a particular interest in trauma-informed counselling, including PTSD, complex trauma, and grief. She also supports patients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, abuse, and major life transitions. In addition to individual therapy, she offers couples counselling with a focus on strengthening communication, deepening understanding, and improving connection.
Fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu, she provides culturally responsive care and offers counselling in patients’ preferred language when needed.
She is committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. She recognizes that reaching out for help takes courage and strives to walk alongside each client in their journey toward healing and meaningful change.
