Junko is a Registered Massage Therapist who combines clinical knowledge with decades of experience in movement, rehabilitation, and physical education to help clients move with less pain and greater confidence.
She graduated from the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy in Toronto and previously earned a degree in Physical Education from Kokushikan University in Tokyo, Japan. Her background also includes teaching physical education, working as a personal fitness trainer, and competing nationally in Kendo, a traditional Japanese martial art that demands balance, coordination, and body awareness.
These experiences shaped Junko's treatment philosophy: pain is often a symptom of an underlying movement dysfunction rather than the problem itself. She takes the time to assess posture, gait, joint mobility, and movement patterns to identify the root cause of discomfort instead of simply treating where it hurts.
Junko was inspired to pursue massage therapy after seeing how hands-on treatment could improve her mother's severe scoliosis. That experience ignited a passion for helping others reduce pain, restore mobility, and improve their quality of life through individualized, evidence-informed care.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic neck, back, or hip pain, or looking to improve your movement and performance, Junko develops treatment plans that combine therapeutic massage, movement education, and practical self-care strategies to help you achieve lasting results.
Outside the clinic, Junko enjoys running, teaching and practicing Kendo and regularly practices Tai Chi. These disciplines continue to deepen her understanding of balance, posture, breathing, and efficient movement, principles that she incorporates into every treatment.
