About Julie
PLEASE NOTE: JULIE IS NOT ACCEPTING BOOKINGS FOR NEW PATIENTS AT THIS TIME. Thank you for your understanding.
Julie Paul, RMT, has been practicing massage therapy since 1991, when she graduated
from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Ontario, and has practiced
mostly in BC since then. She also spent ten years as a primary instructor at two
accredited massage therapy colleges (BC and ON).
Julie’s focus is in helping people maintain or return to optimal health and well-being, and
sees massage therapy as a great tool in preventing stress-related illness and overuse
injuries, and as an important partner in rehabilitation. She also believes that a massage
therapy appointment can offer a mini break from the busy world, a moment to reconnect
with one’s body and to offer it some TLC.
Julie strives to create a calm, friendly and peaceful environment, and provide a balance
between therapeutic and relaxing techniques. She has worked with clients from infancy
to elder years, and appreciates the way that massage therapy can balance, restore and
rejuvenate, as well as alleviate chronic pain.
Her experience includes working with clients who are experiencing the following:
Chronic pain
Autoimmune disorders such as Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia & Lupus.
Arthritis
Headaches
Lower back pain
Various orthopedic injuries such as sprains, strains, tendonitis, frozen shoulder
Post-operative recovery
Postural imbalances and scoliosis
Stress-related muscle tension
Pregnancy and post-partum
Perimenopause and Post-menopause
Post-exercise muscle soreness and injury
Her techniques include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, prenatal and infant
massage, and neuromuscular techniques such as Trigger Point therapy.
When she’s not massaging, she enjoys tennis, hiking, lake swimming, reading, cooking
and gardening. She tries to strike a balance between her massage therapy practice and
her second career as an author—she’s published five books, three of short fiction and
two of poetry.
Therapeutic massage focused on soft tissue treatment to reduce pain, tension, and stress while supporting overall health and well-being. Appointment time includes assessment, treatment, and billing.
