About Julie

Julie (she/her) deeply believes in the beauty of connection and aims to create a safe space where her clients can navigate the nuances of life. Currently, she is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Masters of Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. Julie has over five years of experience working in the mental health field and this experience has cultivated her passion for counselling. She works with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, chronic pain, ADHD, self-esteem, pre-marital counselling, counselling before moving in together, and is passionate about working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. Julie loves to meet new clients before they book so that they can take part in choosing the clinician that best fits their needs before beginning their therapy journey. She believes that therapy should be a collaborative space between client and clinician so people can feel truly safe talking through their lives. She is open to working with clients of all ages including children, teens, students, parents, and couples. Julie is passionate about working with clients to help them establish and reach their goals. She utilizes a person-centered approach so that she can help people feel personally empowered while recognizing their own resilience throughout the therapeutic process. She believes therapy doesn’t need to be dreaded but can be enjoyed, despite the hard work it sometimes takes. Julie works with CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), while incorporating a trauma-informed, feminist approach. A fun fact: Julie absolutely loves thrifting and knows all the good thrift stores around town.
