Julia was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and grew up on the North Shore. She then moved to Edmonton, Alberta for her undergraduate and masters degrees, where she played for the University of Alberta field hockey team.
Julia has worked in various private clinics, gaining experience rehabilitating orthopaedic injuries, concussion, TMJ disorders, and vestibular disorders. She uses a combination of education, exercise therapy, manual therapy, and dry needling in order to help her clients reach their goals.
Julia is passionate about skiing, climbing, getting outside and on the mountains, and reading books about the outdoors. She has a special interest in the rehabilitation of injuries related to various sports, however is passionate about helping people from all walks of life. Julia highly values staying up to date in the research and ensuring her methods are evidence-based.
When not working, you can find her at the Hive, in Squamish, or in Whistler, enjoying the outdoors and exploring nature. She is currently pursuing her PhD at UBC at the Brain Behaviour Lab. Her philosophy for successful rehabilitation outcomes includes having fun, trying new things, staying motivated and embracing rest.
