About Johnny
Johnny earned his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Sydney and has since pursued advanced training in dry needling (Elevate Level II), Mulligan techniques for the upper quadrant, and Fascial Stretch Therapy Level 1.
Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, he worked as a personal trainer at the University of Alberta, where he helped clients improve their fitness, prevent injuries, and stay active in the sports and activities they enjoy.
Johnny has experience treating a wide range of conditions, including muscle and ligament injuries, arthritis, joint replacements, motor vehicle accident-related injuries, and neck and back pain. He believes that understanding a diagnosis is an important part of recovery and works closely with each client to develop a personalized, long-term treatment plan. His approach combines patient education, hands-on manual therapy, and individualized exercise programs to help clients achieve lasting results.
As an athlete who successfully recovered from an ACL injury and returned to competitive track and field, Johnny understands both the physical and mental challenges of rehabilitation. This firsthand experience allows him to guide clients through every stage of recovery, from acute injury management to a safe return to full function.
Outside the clinic, Johnny enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and weight training. He is fluent in Cantonese and can also converse in Mandarin, allowing him to provide care in the language that many clients are most comfortable using.
