Joey Florence, BA, MSW, RSW brings extensive experience in the disability and developmental sector. He has designed and led vocational, employment, and community-based programs that support individuals in finding meaningful work, building social connections, exploring interests, and strengthening everyday life skills. Joey specializes in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, and learning exceptionalities. His background spans schools, private practice, community services, and camp settings. He is trained in Mindfulness Therapy and integrates practices such as present-moment awareness, mindful breathing, and meditation to help clients relate to thoughts and emotions with greater clarity and self-acceptance. His approach is warm, collaborative, and authentic, with a strong emphasis on trust, safety, and engagement. Joey works from a strengths-based, person-centered lens and values community and belonging as essential to well-being. In addition to clinical work, he has contributed to disability advocacy and education through published writing in ABILITIES magazine and his work with the Canadian Abilities Foundation.
