About Joanne

I am a Registered Psychologist with over 40 years of direct clinical experience working with adults, children, and families in a variety of counselling and school settings. I have two graduate degrees, Psychology and Religious Studies I am a staff/faculty member for City University of Seattle, Calgary campus, teaching in the Master of Counselling Psychology program and supervising the interns through the Calgary Campus clinic. Through my practice I specialize in trauma, hypnosis, expressive therapies, play therapy, and grief and loss. I have been a supervisor for provisional psychologists in Alberta for 15 years and have developed and offered training workshops to other professionals. I have worked with indigenous clients throughout my career and maintained a contract at the Stoney Nakoda Reserve for 8 years. Publications I tend to promote my ideas through training workshops and have presented across North America and in the past 10 years, also Europe. Some of these workshops are based on the ideas found in my book The Fifth Position: A Guide for Developing Intercultural Resiliency and Pluralism.
