I believe meaningful therapy involves both processing difficult experiences and developing practical strategies that foster greater emotional freedom, resilience, and lasting change. Life's challenges can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to take that next step. Whether you're navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or a significant life transition, my goal is to provide a compassionate, culturally respectful, and non-judgemental space where you can better understand yourself, navigate life’s difficulties, and create meaningful change. My hope is that you'll experience therapy as a calm, grounded, and collaborative space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Therapy unfolds at a pace that feels right for you, taking time to make sense of difficult experiences, building on your strengths, and discovering practical ways to move toward a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and authentic. The following are my key focus areas: Trauma: Trauma can affect every part of our lives, influencing the way we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world around us. I work with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, complex trauma (C-PTSD), intergenerational and historical trauma, sexualized violence, domestic abuse, neglect, and other overwhelming life experiences. Processing trauma is collaborative, and we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. As the grip of the past begins to loosen, many people experience less shame, greater emotional regulation, and a renewed sense of safety, allowing them to reconnect with themselves and face the future with greater confidence and hope. Anxiety, Depression & Emotional Well-Being: Anxiety, depression, chronic stress, burnout, low self-esteem, addictions, and emotional overwhelm can gradually make it difficult to feel like yourself. Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand what's contributing to your distress while helping to restore emotional regulation while learning tools that support lasting change. Over time, many people experience greater emotional balance, resilience, and a renewed sense of confidence in themselves and their ability to navigate life's challenges. Relationships & Couples Counselling: Relationships can be one of our greatest sources of connection, but they can also leave us feeling hurt, misunderstood, or stuck in repeating patterns of conflict. Whether you're navigating recurring conflict, recovering from betrayal, planning for marriage, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, therapy offers an opportunity to better understand the patterns shaping your connection while developing healthier ways of communicating, resolving conflict, and expressing your needs. I work with individuals and couples to rebuild trust, deepen emotional connection, and foster healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Grief & Loss: Grief is not limited to the loss of a loved one. It can accompany the end of a relationship, changes in health, displacement, or other significant life transitions. Therapy provides a compassionate space to honour your loss while supporting you as you adapt to life after loss, reconnect with yourself, and gradually rediscover hope and meaning. Depending on your needs, I may integrate talk therapy, Art Therapy, and other grief-informed approaches to support your healing. Neurofeedback (Brain Training): At NeurAlive, we use the NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback system, a non-invasive approach that provides real-time feedback to support the brain and nervous system's natural capacity for self-regulation. When used alongside counselling, Neurofeedback can help improve emotional regulation, sleep, focus, anxiety, and overall resilience. It can be particularly beneficial for trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, dissociative symptoms, and peak performance in academic, professional, and athletic settings. Therapeutic Approach: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing, Somatic-Based Attachment Psychotherapy, CBT, Art Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Neurofeedback. Populations: For Counselling: Youth (12+), Adults, Couples, Families, and Elders. For Neurofeedback: Children (6+), Youth, Adults, and Elders. Specializations: Trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief & Loss, Attachment Wounds, Chronic Stress, Burnout, Low Self-Esteem, Substance Use & Impulsive Behaviours, Emotional Regulation, and Relationship Support. Beyond the Work: Outside of my work, I enjoy meditation, yoga, swimming, hiking, creating art, cooking, travelling, reading, and spending time with family. These practices help keep me grounded and continually remind me of the importance of balance, curiosity, and human connection, values I strive to bring into every therapeutic relationship.
