About Jenn

###Registered Psychologist ######Please note: Jenn is accepting new clients on a case-by-case basis. If you are a new client and you want to book with Jenn, please contact our office to be added to Jenn’s waitlist and our admin will reach out to you once a session spot becomes available. #####I work with older teens and adults who are navigating the effects of addiction and trauma, including experiences of childhood trauma. I have specialized training in working with addiction (alcohol and drugs), sexual assault, domestic violence, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Addiction and trauma can affect us in many ways and have lasting impacts if left unaddressed, including depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, sleep issues, relationship stress, sexual difficulties, and chronic pain. As a listener and guide, I’m here to support you in finding coping strategies, healing, and making progress through any challenges standing in the way of you becoming the authentic person you want to be. Therapy doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom; it’s also a space to explore difficult experiences and celebrate your growth! #####I have over eighteen years of experience in the helping profession, providing services in both community and private settings. I practice through a "Rogerian lens," focusing on empathy, respect, non-judgment, and unconditional positive regard. Additionally, I have training in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I strive to offer an authentic and genuine counseling experience, creating a safe space for you to be yourself. #####You are important, you have value, and your voice matters! It’s an honor to walk alongside you in the sacred spaces of your life, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey! #####Educational Background - Master of Arts in Counselling (MC) - City University of Seattle ####Areas of Support - Abortion - Abuse/Survivors of Abuse - Addictions and Compulsions - Adjusting to Change - Adolescent Issues - Aggression and Violence - Alcohol and Drugs - Anger - Anxiety - Attachment Issues - Bipolar - Body Image - Borderline Personality - Breakup - Cancer Diagnosis - Codependency - Communication - Complex Posttraumatic Stress (C-PTSD) - Connection - Control Issues - Coping - Depression - Dissociation - Domestic Violence - Drug and Alcohol Addiction - Dysregulation - Emotional Abuse - Emotional Intelligence - Emotional Overwhelm - Emotional Regulation - Emptiness - Family Problems - Family of Origin Issues - Fatigue - Fear - First Responder - Grief, Loss, and Bereavement - 2SLGBTQIA+ Identities - Personality Disorders - Posttraumatic Stress (PTSD) - Self-Esteem - Self-Harm - Sexual Assault/Abuse - Sleep Disorders - Stress - Substance Use - Suicide/Suicidal Ideation - Trauma - Victim - Young Adult Issues ####Approaches Used - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - Attachment Based - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy - Humanistic - Motivational Interviewing - Somatic Experiencing - Somatic Informed - Trauma Focussed ####Professional Associations/Regulatory Board - College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) - Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA)
