About Jaclyn

Welcome! Jaclyn Goetz is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Professional Art Therapist. She has dedicated her practice to offering a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space for all. Her specializations include eating disorders, anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and relationships. Jaclyn works mainly through the lens of Internal Family Systems and Mindful Self-Compassion. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all and she will draw from multiple approaches to best serve the needs of her clients. Her approach is always trauma- informed, strengths-based, and rooted in compassionate care. Jaclyn has a Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy degree from Adler University in Vancouver, BC. She completed her clinical practicum at The Looking Glass Foundation for Eating Disorders, serving individuals with disordered eating and body image concerns. Jaclyn went on to create Hearth Counselling, where much of her work involves working in eating disorder recovery. Jaclyn understands first-hand the complexities of living with an eating disorder and will support you in navigating recovery at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. Jaclyn also offers art therapy for those interested in combining art making and talk therapy. Her approach focuses on the process of art-making (rather than the product). Through creativity, somatic awareness, and curiosity, we can gain valuable insight into our emotions and inner experience. Art therapy is in itself a healthy coping tool and a form of comfort and care which can help individuals navigate the vulnerability that comes with the therapy journey. If you are struggling, know that you are not alone. It can be scary to reach out for support but know that Jaclyn will meet you where you are at. Sessions will focus on your chosen goals and be sensitive to the obstacles you face. Her belief is that healing is possible for everyone and that together we can move towards overcoming challenges and achieving the life you envision. You are worthy of love and compassion.
