About Ilya
Our bodies have an incredible capacity for healing, adaptation, and resilience. This is a key concept that guides Ilya's practice as he works with each patient to address their specific concerns and develop a well-rounded treatment approach to help them reach their health goals.
Ilya has been a practicing RMT since 2017, but his passion for health and wellness extends much further back. Through martial arts, resistance training, yoga, and rock climbing, he’s spent years exploring movement and the body’s potential—experiences that have shaped his understanding of its capabilities, limitations, and injuries.
Drawing on this background, along with eight years of clinical and spa experience, Ilya’s treatments blend therapeutic and relaxation-based techniques. Myofascial and trigger-point release, joint mobilizations, and Swedish massage commonly find their place in his sessions, offering a well-rounded approach to care.
He places strong emphasis on patient education—helping people understand the “why” behind their pain and giving them the tools to take an active role in their recovery through movement, stretching, and exercise.
Originally from Russia and raised in Vancouver, Ilya has called Powell River home for the past five years. Once drawn here by the coast’s rugged beauty and laid-back rhythm, he now finds joy in sharing that lifestyle with his young family. Outside the clinic, he’s a proud dad, and does his best to maintain his own health through hiking, backpacking, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the little free time he has!
