About Heather
Welcome to Sand Story! I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I work with clients who may be struggling with past or recent trauma, attachment injuries, relationship challenges, or anxiety and depression. I also provide parenting/care-giver support and education and work with co-parents who do not live together.
Within a relational, developmental and trauma informed framework I strive to provide a safe and welcoming space to explore the past, manage the present and envision the future. While I draw from training in evidence-based counselling models and my own lived experience, our work together will always be collaborative and honour you as the expert in your own unique life journey. Together we will work to help you live your natural state of growth and thriving.
I work with adults, youth, children, couples and families. My areas of speciality are Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for trauma, relational patterns and attachment injuries; Child-Centred Play Therapy; parenting support and education; CBT and mindfulness based therapies for anxiety and depression.
