About Heather

Heather earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa where she competed as a pole vaulter on the uOttawa track and field team. She then obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University where she completed placements across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient neurorehabilitation. With a strong interest in neurological rehabilitation, Heather went on to work for over two years in an outpatient community stroke rehabilitation program. Through this experience, she further developed her clinical skills and passion for helping individuals with neurological conditions achieve their functional goals and participate in meaningful activities within their communities. Heather has taken courses in Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) for stroke (specializing in gait and the upper extremity post-stroke), balance assessment and treatment, and functional electrical stimulation. She enjoys incorporating these skills into individualized treatment plans to help patients build confidence, improve their mobility and independence, and return to the activities that are meaningful to them. Heather is from the General Toronto Area but decided to make the exciting move to Vancouver and continue working in neurorehabilitation with us at Neuromotion. She was drawn to neuromotion by the fun and innovative atmosphere as well as the opportunity to apply her skills across diverse neurological populations. Heather also really enjoys hiking and bouldering in her spare time and can’t wait to explore what British Columbia has to offer!
