Heather’s therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centred and strengths-based principles, aiming to create a supportive and empathetic environment where clients feel heard and empowered. She believes everyone has the inner resources for meaningful change and works closely with each client to build a strong, trusting relationship. With over a decade of experience in Correctional Services, Heather specializes in helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, trauma, and stress, particularly in high-pressure environments like first responder roles. She has a strong interest in supporting first responders, recognizing the unique emotional and psychological challenges they face. She uses various therapeutic techniques, including CBT, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to guide clients in overcoming challenges and fostering self-awareness and resilience.
