About Fernanda

I have been on my counselling and clinical training journey for several years, supporting clients across diverse cultural and international contexts. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in British Columbia, I bring both formal clinical training and lived multicultural experience to my work. I have worked in Brazil, Chile, Germany, and Canada, and these experiences have deeply shaped how I understand people, identity, and life transitions. I believe every client deserves care that fosters courage, clarity, and self-compassion when facing life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and flexibility. I primarily integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and person-centred principles, while also drawing from psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy when appropriate. I tailor each session to meet my clients’ unique needs and goals. I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ASD, ADHD, acculturation and immigration stress, parenting challenges, and emotional regulation concerns. I work with children, young adults, and adults. My clinical and research interests include perinatal mental health and the emotional challenges of entering parenthood. If you are navigating pregnancy, postpartum changes, or early parenthood, I would be honoured to support you. I offer therapy in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and German, and I strive to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive care.
