People often come to therapy after long periods of time struggling with or avoiding their pain. It can be difficult to begin to approach challenges in a new way. To help with this process, I strive to create an environment where the people that I meet with can feel safe to explore their experiences without judgement. You will be welcomed just as you are, and we will work together to help you achieve your goals for counselling. You are the expert on your experience therefore, I take a collaborative approach to counselling. I work together with you to build on your strengths, draw on your resources and to develop new ways of approaching life’s challenges. I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, suicidality, grief, work/school stress, goal setting and relationship difficulties. I work to address these challenges by drawing from several evidence-based approaches including Narrative Practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Whatever you come to work on and whatever approach we take together to address your challenges, I consider the opportunity to journey with you for a portion of your life’s path an honour and an immense privilege.
