About Emma

Hi there! My name is Emma Chi, and I am a Registered Psychologist at Solace Psychology & Wellness. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Concordia University of Edmonton. I am a proud professional member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and Psychologists' Association of Alberta. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable space where clients feel supported and empowered. I see myself as a guide and motivator, helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve their goals. Therapy for Teens & Adults I have experience working with a wide range of clinical issues, including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), stress, self-esteem, work/life balance, grief and loss, insomnia, and trauma. I work with both teens and adults, providing individualized care personalized to each client’s needs. Believing in the uniqueness of each person, I tailor my approach using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. With most clients, I focus on emotion regulation, mindfulness, and exploring different coping skills, all while working collaboratively toward their objectives. My therapeutic toolkit includes Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory. For those who wish to incorporate their faith into their healing journey, I also offer a faith-based approach. Additionally, I am qualified to provide prescriptions for Park Passes to clients within Alberta. These passes aid with offering nature's benefits for improved mental health and well-being. As a therapist, I love that I get the privilege of witnessing each client’s healing journey firsthand, whatever that may look like. I think it’s amazing how different therapeutic interventions can truly change someone’s life, and I love that I get to see it happen and celebrate with my clients when it does happen. A Bit About Me In my free time, you can find me hiking, biking, reading, or indulging in creative writing. I love exploring different cafes and spending time outdoors with my husband. However, I also cherish quiet days at home with my cat, Cookie.
