About Emily

Emily has extensive training in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of pelvic health conditions across the lifespan. Her areas of focus include stress and urinary incontinence, prolapse management, bowel dysfunction, and perimenopausal symptom management. She has a particular interest in working with individuals with hypermobility disorders (HSD, EDS), as well as those navigating prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation, including strength training and return-to-sport guidance. Emily also has experience treating endometriosis, adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), dyspareunia, and chronic pelvic pain. Emily practices from an evidence-informed, whole-person (biopsychosocial) perspective, recognizing that each individual’s experience is unique. She takes a highly personalized approach to care, developing treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and needs. With a background as an exercise therapist and a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta, Emily brings a strong movement-focused approach to rehabilitation. She is also trained in functional dry needling, which she integrates thoughtfully as part of a broader treatment plan, alongside exercise retraining to support optimal outcomes. Education is a cornerstone of Emily’s practice. She is passionate about empowering patients with knowledge and practical strategies to support long-term, sustainable results. She regularly presents for organizations such as Move Your Mood, local women’s conferences, Grow Kids (formerly Go Girl), and other community groups. In recent years, Emily has partnered on research initiatives with the University of Alberta focused on improving pelvic health care in rural communities, and she hopes to continue contributing to this important work.

After years of dealing with doctors, hospitals, tests, etc, Emily swooped in and saved the day! She has provided more help in 3-4 months than any doctor has in 12 years. Emily has made me feel seen, heard and validated when it comes to my health and even takes the time to explain everything to you in detail so you have an understanding of what is going on in your body. She is dedicated to finding answers and solutions for you and is just a genuinely wonderful, caring person at heart! Her energy is so pure, I love going to my appointments just to go see her! 😋 I am so blessed to have found her and the rest of the Elle team and I recommend them to anyone who is struggling with pelvic health!

My experience was very positive. I felt very comfortable and the atmosphere was quiet and conducive for learning and healing. Emily instantly made me feel at ease, she explained things very well and was respectful and accepting when doing examinations. I learned a lot about my anatomy and she explained how and why the exercises would be helpful for my problem. She was encouraging and supportive and gave me positive feedback about my progress. I would highly recommend Emily as a therapist. Her positive attitude was contagious and enjoyable.

I had the best experience with Emily at Elle Physiotherapy! She was so encouraging and educational during my sessions and always kept in mind what my goals were. I had not been able to run due to pelvic pain in over 5 years and after physio I was able to start running regularly again. I am so thankful for this team!
