About Elza

Elza holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from McMaster University, where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude distinction. She also earned a Concurrent Certification in Rehabilitation Science. While at McMaster, Elza served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the university's soccer and rugby teams, which ignited her passion for athletic exercise prescription and movement analysis. Elza is dedicated to providing compassionate care and fostering strong therapeutic alliances with her clients. She believes in creating a collaborative partnership, tailoring physiotherapy treatments and goals to each individual's unique needs. Her approach combines therapeutic exercise prescription, manual therapy, and education on self-management. Elza has a special interest in Women’s Health and pelvic floor physiotherapy and is certified in all three levels of pelvic floor training. She has published research in Women’s Health titled, “Where Best Practice Pain Care and Patient Expectations for Care Meet: Exploring Patient Expectations Around Chronic Pelvic Pain, Physiotherapy, and the Biopsychosocial Model of Care.” Her clinical interests also include labour and delivery preparation, as well as the management of pelvic pain conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, and adenomyosis. In her free time, Elza enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, going to the gym, and traveling!
