About Ellen

Ellen is a counselling intern at the South Office. Ellen brings experience grounded in frontline support work with individuals who have been impacted by trauma. She brings a strong trauma informed approach. She understands how difficult this work is for clients. She therefore has a deep respect for the role that she has. She believes that safety and trust play an important role in counselling. This is why she puts a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. It is the foundation of change in counselling. and meets clients where they are it in the process. Ellen's approach is humanistic and person-centered. She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives, and that her role is to offer a consistent, non-judgmental space where people feel safe enough to be honest — with her, and with themselves. Ellen brings genuine curiosity, humility, and care to the counselling process. She approaches this work, as she does her own life, with warmth and a belief in people's capacity for change. She works with anxiety, depression, anger management, self esteem, interpersonal relationship difficulties, coping skills, codependency, grief, infidelity, life transitions, family conflict, stress, women’s issues, sexual abuse, emotional regulation.
