Elaine Alexander (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, including 10 years as a life and business coach. Known for her calm, no-nonsense approach and deep capacity for holding complexity, she is dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing space for individuals navigating some of life's hardest moments.
Philosophy
Elaine believes in the radical value of being truly known. She is committed to creating a therapeutic relationship where honesty and safety coexist, where clients can stop performing and start actually working through what's keeping them stuck.
Therapeutic Approach
Drawing from attachment-based, psychodynamic, narrative, and cognitive-behavioural frameworks, as well as hypnotherapy, Elaine tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each client. She works from the understanding that insight alone rarely changes anything. What actually shifts things is the combination of awareness, relationship, and the slow, sometimes uncomfortable work of doing something different.
Focus Areas
In her practice, Elaine focuses on grief, relationships, motherhood, and the pressures of entrepreneurship. Her counselling expertise lies in loss (including suicide loss), relational patterns (including dating), identity, and the experience of women who are capable, competent and exhausted. She brings two decades of lived experience as an entrepreneur to her work with clients navigating the emotional weight of running a business, and she is particularly adept at working with people who are high-functioning on the outside and quietly unravelling on the inside. She works toward helping clients build lives that feel like theirs again.
