About Eileen

Eileen has been a registered Psychologist in Alberta since 2012. She holds an M.ED. (Counselling Psychology), a B.Sc. in psychology and two years of graduate studies in applied clinical psychology. She has a wealth of experience supporting adults, children, and families to navigate life challenges and transitions. She has also provided, supports and counselling to adults experiencing serious and chronic mental health problems, individuals involved with the justice system, and adults who experienced childhood sexual abuse and sexual violence/exploitation. While in the role of Aboriginal Liaison Mental Health Therapist out of the Stony Plain Mental Health Clinic/Westview Hospital, Eileen provided mental health supports, counselling, and crisis intervention for Indigenous People in the Stony Plain region. From her experience with diverse populations and a broad range of mental health conditions, she has learned that we all have an inherent capacity for personal growth that can be accessed when we have the support and tools to overcome the obstacles and barriers that limit us. If you are seeking help for current life challenges or are adversely affected by past experiences, Eileen would be honoured to support you to work through these difficulties. Eileen’s therapeutic approach integrative, client-centered, and rooted in cultural humility. She values the client’s inherent wisdom and recognizes the client as the expert in their own experience. She collaborates with the client to create a space in which the client feels safe, supported, and ready to identify the challenges to be worked through in therapy. To support the client’s work, Eileen draws upon evidence-based therapies, including:  Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)  Narrative Therapy  Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)  Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)  Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)  Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)  Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Eileen is passionate about working with:  Depression  Anxiety  Trauma  Sexual violence/exploitation/harassment  Developmental Trauma (traumatic victimization, attachment trauma in childhood)  Emotion dysregulation  High self-criticism and shame  Perfectionism
