About Taravat

Dr. Taravat Ostovar is a licensed psychologist in British Columbia (#1014792) , the Northwest Territories (#2250-71056) and Alberta ( #8832) She has over 20 years of overall experiences in a variety of allied health public and private clinics, indigenous communities, rehabilitation centres providing psychological assessment, consultation, academic research endeavours, training, group presentations, mentorship, and evidence based therapy to individuals, couples, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Dr. Ostovar is here to support you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. She is a strong believer that everyone has an inherent ability to thrive, heal and grow, regardless of the illness and life challenges. She believes that people are inherently worthy and have the capacity and inner resources to grow and change towards their higher purpose. Dr. Ostovar’s approach is holistic, evidence-based, client-centred, compassionate and based on creating and maintaining a calm, supportive, respectful and safe environment and drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches to best suit clients’ needs. These approaches offer clients the opportunity to explore their emotions, thoughts, actions, and new ways of being and doing. She welcomes clients from all cultures, ethnicities, religious and spiritual beliefs, gender identities and sexual orientations. Dr. Ostovar is actively engaged in community awareness promoting children and families wellbeing. She is a member of the College of Care and Health Professionals of BC, the Association of Psychologists in the Northwest Territories, and the BC Psychological Association, where she serves on the Advocacy and Community Engagement Committee. When she is not involved in professional activities, Dr. Taravat Ostovar volunteers her time by helping various community building activities in her neighbourhood. She also enjoys books and podcasts, nature walks, pilates, drumming, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
