About Tara
Born and raised on the West Coast, Dr. Tara Lantz, ND has deep roots and family ties to the Nova Scotia and she is happy to be practicing in the province since 2013 after 2 years of practice in downtown Vancouver.
Dr. Lantz received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, B.C in 2011, and holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry (summa cum laude, 2003) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. She has additional training Bowen Technique bodywork and craniosacral therapy.
Dr. Lantz’s naturopathic practice focuses on a functional medicine approach to health by investigating and addressing the root cause of health concerns, while incorporating lifestyle changes and integrative, holistic therapies to provide a framework for health and disease prevention.
Dr. Lantz’s focus includes mental health, anxiety, stress/burnout, insomnia and sleep concerns, digestive and hormonal health, as well as hands on bodywork for conditions such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, post-concussion syndrome, headaches, and other physical and stress-related health concerns.
Her approach incorporates clinical diagnosis and blood work/lab testing with holistic & integrative approaches to provide medicine that treats the entire person, not just symptoms.
Treatment plans are individualized to include lifestyle counselling and education to provide workable solutions to minimize the impact of stress and while optimizing sleep, mood, energy levels, and day-to-day wellbeing. She loves extending her area of care into education, counselling, and coaching.
Dr. Lantz aims to work collaboratively with other medical professionals to bridge the gap between standard medical care and complementary medicine to help restore lasting health for her patients.
Dr. Lantz is a professional member in good standing with the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors (NSAND), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and is licensed through the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC). She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the CAND.
