About Lucy
Lucy is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). She is the holder of three degrees from the University of Calgary: BA in Psychology and Indigenous Studies, Master of Science and Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology.
Lucy grounds her work in the belief that people can and want to change and her role as their therapist is to help them figure out how to achieve the change they desire. In her work, Lucy takes a collaborative approach to help people separate themselves from the problems which bring them to counselling and to privilege their experience and strengths. apply evidence-based, outcome-informed approaches such as, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy to offer culturally responsive and trauma-informed therapy. Lucy collaborates with her clients to identify the most suitable approach for managing Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Addiction, Disordered Eating, Life Transitions, Parenting, Education and Career advising, and many other life challenges.
Lucy brings a deep understanding of the human experience that draws from the breath and depth of her education, a curiosity about different ways of knowing, and rich life experiences that span three continents. Her clinical experience includes many years of counselling a diverse clientele of individual Adults (16+), Couples, and families at community agencies and post-secondary institutions before transitioning into private practice under the business name of Re-route Psychology. Lucy offers in-person appointments out of her offices in Calgary. Lucy is licensed to provide virtual counselling to residents of Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Nunavut.
