About Kara

Hi, I’m Kara — an acupuncturist with a background in biology, chemistry, movement, and holistic medicine. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry, which gave me a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, body systems, and the mechanics of movement and physical function. This scientific background, combined with my passion for holistic healthcare, led me to pursue Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. I graduated from the Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CCTCMA), where I was fortunate to be taught by Maryna Evans. I graduated as Valedictorian of my class, reflecting my dedication and passion to both the medicine and my education. My practice focuses on sports medicine, physical performance and recovery, nervous system regulation, and psycho-emotional wellbeing. As an active athlete and beach volleyball player myself, I understand the physical demands we place on our bodies and the impact that pain, injury, stress, and fatigue can have on performance and everyday life. I take a whole-person approach to treatment, recognizing that physical symptoms can be influenced by stress, the nervous system, emotional wellbeing, sleep, and lifestyle. I believe that the body and the mind cannot truly be separated. Each treatment is individualized to meet you where you are and support your body’s natural ability to restore balance. Whether you’re looking to recover from an injury, improve performance, manage stress, or simply feel more at home in your body, my goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed care in a space where you feel heard and supported.
