About Gina
Dr. Gina Bouros is a licensed naturopathic physician at Whole Body Health and Wellness in Maple Ridge, BC. She brings a strong academic background, an international perspective, and a thoughtful, individualized approach to naturopathic medicine. Dr. Gina is particularly focused on women’s hormonal health, digestive health, and metabolic wellness, helping patients better understand the factors that may be contributing to how they feel. She takes the time to listen to the full picture rather than focusing on a single symptom, and develops personalized care plans based on each patient’s goals, history, and individual needs.
Education & Professional Background Dr. Gina holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University Ion Ionescu de la Brad in Romania and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Bucharest, which she completed in 2005. After relocating to Canada in 2008, she continued her education in naturopathic medicine, completing her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in British Columbia. Dr. Gina is licensed and in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC) and is a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
A Personalized Approach to Naturopathic Medicine Dr. Gina works with patients of all ages and takes a comprehensive approach to understanding their health concerns. Depending on the individual, this may include reviewing symptoms, medical history, nutrition, lifestyle factors, and appropriate laboratory testing. Her goal is to help patients better understand their health and develop practical, individualized strategies that fit their lives.
Areas of Focus Women’s Hormonal Health Hormonal changes can affect energy, sleep, mood, menstrual cycles, skin, and overall well-being. Dr. Gina works with women through different stages of life, including concerns related to PMS, irregular menstrual cycles, perimenopause, menopause, thyroid health, hormone-related acne, migraines, and other hormone-related concerns. For patients who continue to experience symptoms despite having apparently normal routine laboratory results, she can take a broader look at symptoms, history, lifestyle, and appropriate testing to help identify areas that may warrant further attention.
Digestive Health Digestive symptoms can have a significant impact on quality of life. Dr. Gina works with patients experiencing concerns such as IBS, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, SIBO, food sensitivities, and other ongoing digestive symptoms. Her approach may include dietary and lifestyle strategies, nutritional support, and targeted testing when appropriate, with treatment plans tailored to the individual’s symptoms and goals.
Metabolic Health & Weight Management Energy, blood sugar regulation, body composition, and weight can all be influenced by nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, hormones, and metabolic health. Dr. Gina works with patients looking to improve their metabolic health and supports individuals dealing with concerns such as insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, blood-sugar regulation, and difficulty managing weight. Rather than relying on short-term diets or quick fixes, her approach focuses on sustainable changes that patients can maintain over time.
Stress, Sleep & Energy Chronic stress and poor sleep can have a significant effect on energy, mood, concentration, appetite, and overall well-being. Dr. Gina works with patients experiencing fatigue, difficulty sleeping, stress, burnout, and low energy, taking into consideration lifestyle, nutrition, sleep patterns, and other factors that may be contributing to their symptoms.
