Therapy Style & Philosophy
Each of us climbs to our own personal peak; on paths filled with obstacles and opportunities. Through my role as therapist, I have the luxury of seeing your potential paths from a different vantage point as you navigate your course and continue your ascent. We work together to integrate our perspectives to help move you forward, understanding that you are the expert in your own life. I believe that the mind and body are capable of restoration and actualization given the right conditions; and in a safe and supportive environment it is possible to create the conditions for growth, wholeness, and inner healing.
Background & Credentials
I am licensed psychologist and certified professional coach, practicing since 2001, with a Master’s degree in counselling and a Ph.D. in psychology. As an associate with Nurtured Learning I work with clients in a number of areas including anxiety, stress, and depression; in addition to providing quick, effective, and non-invasive trauma resolution for which I am trained in various therapy models including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Flash Technique, Cognitive Behavioural and Exposure Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Trauma.
Chris’ Story
Born and raised in Calgary, I enjoy working and playing in the community that has offered me so much over the years. When I’m not working I enjoy taking in live music, spending time with family and friends, watching my three growing children flourish, and taking advantage of our short summers on the walking paths or golf course.
