About Britta

Dr. Boekamp obtained her Masters in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota in 2008 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in 2015. She also completed a Master’s in Business Administration at the Schulich School of Business. She has over 14 years of experience working in the mental health field in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, college counseling centers, substance abuse centers and private practice settings. Dr. Boekamp is licensed to provide psychological services both in Ontario and the State of Florida. Dr. Boekamp provides individual therapy for adolescents and adults. In therapy, her number one goal is to create a space built on warmth, positivity and authenticity, so that you can achieve your goals. The therapeutic relationship is key in developing the kind of space where each client can explore issues, concerns and goals, so she pays careful attention to this relationship on an ongoing basis. While she is a generalist Dr. Boekamp specializes in working with individuals with anxiety and trauma, those with chronic illness and autoimmune disorders, and neurodivergence, as well as adolescents, young adults and the 2SLGTQI+ population. Dr. Boekamp also conducts diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments for ages 6+ for a variety presenting issues: including but not limited to, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, specific learning disabilities, giftedness, school or workplace accommodations, anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, psychotic and mood disorders.
