About Ali
Dr. Shahrami is a clinical psychologist providing treatment and diagnostic assessment.
Dr. Shahrami works with children, older teens, and adults with a wide range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, life stress, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. He also works with First Responders and WSIB claimants.
Dr. Shahrami’s main approach is cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), but he also uses other approaches such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy.
He completed a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) at the California Southern University. He has about 30 years experience providing psychological treatment and assessments in both hospital and private settings.
Dr. Shahrami believes that the best treatment outcomes come when his clients feel like he is flexible, non-judgmental, open, and supportive. He listens well and uses humour and real-life examples to help clients understand how their beliefs and behaviours affect their outcomes.
