Hi, I’m Diya! I’m in my second year of Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour in the Mental Health Specialization at McMaster. I’ve always been curious about the quieter ways people express themselves and connect with others. Growing up between Mozambique and Mauritius with Indian roots, I was surrounded by diverse cultures, which opened my eyes to how deeply our environment shapes us. That sparked my passion for mental health, identity, and community care. I’m especially interested in how culture and lived experience shape our understanding of mental health, and I hope to help create spaces that feel inclusive, compassionate, and truly supportive.
