About Derek
With a passion for health and wellness, Derek completed both his Master's in Physiotherapy and Bachelor's in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia.
Through his clinical experience, Derek has treated a wide variety of patients (such as, but not limited to - TMJ dysfunction, arthritis, sports injuries, MVA, aches and pains from office work, etc.). Derek believes that one of the most important aspects to being a physiotherapist is to tailor the rehab and recovery program to each patient, as no two people are the same. This is done through selecting various hands-on treatment methods (e.g., manual therapy, IMS, shockwave, plus more!) and combining it with a personalized exercise program to achieve sustainable long term results. Derek also aims to create an uplifting and motivating atmosphere to ensure patients are getting the best care possible.
Outside of the clinic, Derek loves going to the gym, spending time with family and loved ones, as well as watching whatever sports game is on at the time.
Derek is able to communicate with his patients in both English and Cantonese.
