About Dawn

Dawn Lee is an Associate Clinical Counsellor at MindRight Counselling & Consulting. She holds a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC #18279). Dawn has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She assists clients with issues related to depression, anxiety, academic stress, life and career transitions, immigration, sexuality, grief and loss, relationship violence and abuse, trauma, and parenting. Her background includes co-facilitating psychoeducation and support groups and providing emotional and advocacy support as an Outreach Advocate and Crisis Line volunteer. Dawn's work with a First Nations non-profit organization has given her valuable insight into the unique cultural aspects and challenges faced by BC's remote First Nations communities, particularly concerning intergenerational trauma and mental health struggles. Additionally, she has considerable experience working with children with autism and older adults through various agencies and organizations. Dawn employs an integrated, holistic approach to therapy, combining trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioural methods with other therapeutic modalities tailored to her clients' needs. She may incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, solution-focused therapy, Adlerian principles, narrative therapy, and a multicultural/diversity framework when appropriate. Her sessions are client-centred, collaborative, and conducted in a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment, allowing clients to explore their most profound personal challenges comfortably. Dawn is dedicated to working alongside her clients in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner, helping them build on their strengths and achieve the goals they set together. Dawn is fluent in English and Cantonese and has conversational proficiency in Mandarin.
