About Daniel

Where are you from? Surrey, Canada What were you doing before pursuing RMT? Before RMT, I was studying Sport Science at Douglas College, working as a Medical Office Assistant at a physio clinic, and serving at a brewery. It was a busy mix of school, helping patients, and pouring pints, but it all kept me around people—which I’ve realized is where I work best. Why do you want to be an RMT? I want to become an RMT because I love working with people and helping them feel better through a hands-on approach. I’ve always known I wanted something in health and wellness that wasn’t a desk job, and massage was the one profession where I personally felt understood and supported when I was being treated. That stuck with me. I enjoy learning about how the body works and helping clients feel real changes that sometimes feel a bit like magic. How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school? Outside of school and work, I’m usually doing something active—working out, running, hiking—or diving into a good fiction book. If I’m not doing that, I’m probably hanging out with friends or family at a board game night, discovering a new food spot, or planning my next place to explore. What is your favourite thing about VCMT? My favorite thing about VCMT is the sense of camaraderie between cohorts. The way upper-year students share advice, study tips, and the occasional struggle sympathy makes the whole experience feel supportive. It’s the first school where I’ve really felt like the connections I make will stick. Do you speak any languages other than English fluently? If so, which ones?
