About Charmaine

Charmaine is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She works with children, youth, and adults and is committed to providing high quality, ethically-sound care to all her clients. As a retired school counsellor, Charmaine has a strong understanding of the various opportunities and challenges young people and their caregivers encounter along their educational journey and how these might impact one’s sense of well-being. She uses a variety of tools and approaches while prioritizing each client’s needs, readiness, and comfort level. She also strives to cultivate a deep sense of self-compassion and optimism in each session. Woven throughout Charmaine’s practice is an appreciation for the role of attachment and early life experience in impacting how we are in the world, and the many opportunities for healing and growth that our inner resources can provide. Charmaine practices from an integrative, trauma-informed perspective and is trained in providing Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based interventions. She has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in addition to a Bachelor of Education and 20 years of experience as an educator. Charmaine invites anyone who might be curious about whether she would be a good fit for their needs to reach out to Sea to Tree and arrange a complimentary consult.
