About Cathy

Cathy studied a five year Bachelor and Masters in Osteopathy at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University in Australia. She then practiced in two busy multi-disciplinary clinics in Melbourne with a strong focus on family health. Cathy then moved to London UK to study at the Osteopathic Centre for Children completing a Diploma of Paediatric Osteopathy. She also continued to volunteer in their paediatric clinic working with complex cases in paediatric health – including patients with syndromes, learning and behavioural disorders, regressions or delays in growth/development, feeding issues, gastrointestinal issues, torticollis and plagiocephaly (flat head). Cathy has also completed further training in cranial osteopathy and in working with patients who are pre- and post-partum including a certificate in ante- and post-natal Pilates. She has worked with pregnant patients with pelvic girdle pain, low back pain, nausea, headache/migraine, insomnia. On moving to London, Cathy opened her own practice and was referred adult patients who were experiencing stressful life events, anxiety and other mind-body-spirit concerns. She has a strong interest in working with the connection between the body’s internal organs and their relationship with overall wellbeing. Since moving to Canada, Cathy continues to work with pregnant patients and has completed training in childbirth education and perinatal yoga teaching. She works with newborns and children of all ages, helping to support their development and nervous system integration. She has used osteopathy and rhythmic movements to help children and parents regulate their nervous systems. Cathy also works with adults to support somatic integration and helping them to access their own mind-body connection. Cathy was first introduced to osteopathy in Australia when she had a dance related injury as a teenager and has continued to be fascinated since. She has a keen interest in body biomechanics and works with dancers at all ages and experience, as well as gymnasts and yoga practitioners. She continues to dance for fun in her spare time as well as hiking and practicing yoga and meditation. She is passionate about how to lead a healthy, sustainable, low-impact lifestyle and is continually learning about optimizing plant-based nutrition. Cathy is a member with the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.
