About Catherine

After emigrating to Canada in 1990, Catherine spent seven years working at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, specializing in respirology, hematology, and general medicine. With four young children, Catherine sought to improve her work-life balance and transitioned to a community-based role as a visiting nurse. This allowed her the flexibility to work around her family, a path she followed for 11 years. In 2008, Catherine moved into management, gaining 15 years of diverse experience in Community Health and Long-Term Care. During this period, she spent two years as a visiting nurse supervisor, allowing her to stay current with clinical practices in wound care, lower leg assessment, and diabetes education. Throughout her career, Catherine has always enjoyed providing direct nursing care to clients. Having seen firsthand the significant foot care challenges faced by seniors in both community and long-term care settings, and driven by her passion for lower leg and foot health, Catherine recently pursued further education to become a foot care nurse. Keeping our feet healthy helps us stay active, promotes proper movement, and contributes to overall well-being.
