About Carrissa
Carrissa graduated from The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy.
As well, she is also a member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario. Her intuitively compassionate nature, combined with her engaging personality, lend well to her career path. Carrissa has provided treatment for children, adolescents, adults young and old, special needs, the morbidly obese, and people with physical and intellectual challenges.
She has experience treating clients with multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, fibromyalgia, ALS, Parkinson’s, Bells Palsy, TMJ, hip replacement, Harrington rod, ankylosing spondylitis, ADHD, tourette syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, stroke, spasticity, quadriplegic, paraplegic, spinal cord injury, and acquired brain injury. In addition, she has provided treatment for verbal and non verbal patients and palliative care including persistent wakeful but unaware state.
While studying massage therapy, Carrissa was told she needed surgery in both wrists to alleviate the numbness and tingling sensations she was experiencing. She felt strongly that this was not an option and decided to take a less invasive approach. Deep tissue massage therapy eliminated all of her symptoms, confirming her belief in exploring an alternative approach before the use of drugs or surgery.
