Guiding Belief
“Awareness creates choice. Choice creates change.”
Helping individuals, families, and communities build healthier relationships—with themselves, with one another, and with the life they want to live.
Meet Cara
Cara Beth Elliott believes that meaningful change begins with understanding. When people gain greater awareness of their emotions, relationships, behaviours, and the stories they tell themselves, they become empowered to make choices that create healthier, more connected, and more fulfilling lives.
As the Founder and Clinical Director of Graystone Counselling & Consulting, Cara has dedicated more than 15 years to supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and organizations through life’s challenges. Her professional journey began in education, where she developed a deep understanding of child development, family systems, communication, and emotional wellbeing. Today, her work integrates counselling, family therapy, organizational consulting, and community mental health, allowing her to support clients across every stage of life.
Known for her warm, grounded, and collaborative style, Cara creates a therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, addiction, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, or significant life transitions, she works alongside them to understand not only what is happening, but why. Through greater awareness, practical strategies, and compassionate guidance, Cara helps clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Cara has developed a strong area of focus in family reunification and court-involved family work. She collaborates with parents, children, legal professionals, schools, and community agencies to rebuild trust, strengthen attachment, improve communication, and support the safe restoration of parent-child relationships. Her work emphasizes child-centred practice, emotional safety, and thoughtful, gradual relationship repair.
Beyond the therapy room, Cara is passionate about strengthening community mental wellbeing. She develops psychoeducational groups, workplace wellness initiatives, leadership training, and community mental health projects that promote emotional resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful connection.

What Therapy Looks Like with Cara
