Britney is an Occupational Therapist with a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve greater independence, participation, and confidence in their everyday lives. Originally from Fall River, Nova Scotia, Britney brings a broad clinical perspective and a
practical, client-centred approach to her work at PROTx Services.
Britney completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at Acadia University before continuing her education at Dalhousie University, where she earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2024.
Her clinical interests include community-based Occupational Therapy, equipment prescription, cognitive rehabilitation, and mental health. Britney is particularly interested in understanding the unique relationship between an individual's abilities, environment, daily activities, and in developing practical strategies that help clients overcome barriers to meaningful participation.
At PROTx, Britney takes the time to understand what is important to each client and uses her clinical knowledge to develop individualized, functional recommendations that can be applied in real-world settings. She believes that Occupational Therapy is most impactful when it helps people regain access to the activities, roles, and routines that give
their lives meaning.
“What I love most about being an OT is how broad our scope is. I feel like I can do just about anything! It also really encourages me when my clients are able to get back to something very meaningful they once were having trouble accomplishing.”
Outside of Occupational Therapy, Britney is an active member of her community. She volunteers as a coach with the Blizz Volleyball Club and enjoys playing volleyball and golf. She also loves spending time with her pets.
Britney’s approach reflects what Occupational Therapy is all about: understanding what matters to each person, identifying what is getting in the way, and finding practical solutions that help them participate more fully in life.
