About Ashley

I am a Registered Psychologist with a Masters Degree in Counselling through City University of Seattle in Canada where my capstone topic was how couples support each other as they grieve perinatal loss. I believe people desire to grow, and talking with a supportive clinician helps them to process thoughts and feelings. This in turn helps clients to gain new insights, perspectives, and understandings, leading to a healthier mental/emotional existence. When individuals get sidetracked by life’s challenges, those challenges need not be faced alone. I an ally to the LGBTQ2S+ community, and seek an empathetic and non-judgmental understanding to all of my client’s situation to collaboratively inspire hope and gain tools needed to move forward. I believe helping clients reduce their negative self-talk and challenging thoughts and feelings can enable them to achieve their goals and live a life that reflects their values. I provide treatment for individuals, families, and couples from ages 12 to 65+ with issues presenting in, but not limited to anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem and identity, boundaries, conflict resolution, depression, anger, emotional regulation, life transitions, and self-compassion. I specialize in couples with issues in relationship and parenting. Whether someone is newly pregnant, has recently welcomed a little one, or is suffering from adversity in growing their family whether through loss or infertility, I can affirm how they feel in these overwhelming experiences, and provide strategies to help face the “hard stuff” of parenthood. Couples may especially benefit with finding ways to increase communication and intimacy in their relationships as they now take on the roles of both partners and parents. My integrative therapeutic approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Existential Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
