Ashley grew up in the small town of Osoyoos where she started playing sports at a young age. After graduation she was fortunate enough to play varsity soccer for UBCO and obtained her undergraduate degree in biology. Afterwards, she was unsure of what career to pursue. A volunteer trip to Costa Rica solidified her choice to pursue physiotherapy and she has never looked back. A love for travelling led her to obtain a Masters of Physiotherapy degree across the pond in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Upon her return, she also found a love of teaching people about physical fitness and decided to get her personal training certificate as well. She has been training individuals alongside physiotherapy for the past 7 years in Vancouver, B.C., and lately online.
Ashley loves using movement and exercise as a tool to help people alleviate injuries and promote healthy living. As well, she approaches the patient with a wholistic problem-solving attitude. She can treat symptoms but prefers to find the mechanism behind the injury and help to correct any biomechanical issues to prevent further injuries.
She is a firm believer in prevention and feels this is key in bettering any patient’s health goals. She has worked with musculoskeletal issues, neurological conditions (Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and chronic stroke), paediatrics and falls prevention.
Her family has recently moved back home to the Okanagan and are enjoying being closer to family and friend’s. She is looking forward to learning new things and getting to know all of you who come to the clinic.
