About Ashley

Ashley Merta, MPT, BSc Ashley is a former Tae Kwon Do competitor whose activity now consists of weight training, spin classes, and anything she can get her German Shepherd involved in, especially hiking. She has recently taken up driving a motorcycle and enjoys gardening and reading a good book in her downtime. Ashley enjoys treating a variety of conditions in people of all ages – her youngest patient ever being 4 months old. She likes to focus on functional lifestyle changes to smoothly transition from treatment in the clinic to more bodily knowledge and education of oneself, whether it be for someone who works a desk job or an elite athlete anxious to return to training. Ashley has a special interest in the hypermobile population as well as treating patients with a variety of medical conditions, applying her knowledge from orthopedic, cardiopulmonary, and neurophysiotherapy. She strongly believes in treating the whole person and working closely with your other practitioners. Education Ashley graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy in 2022. Prior to her education, Ashley completed a Bachelors degree in Science at the University of Manitoba. Since graduating, Ashley has taken levels in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal program and non-internal pelvic floor courses with a focus on pregnancy and the postpartum population, and the relevance to low back pain from pelvic floor dysfunction. Ashley created her Long-Covid Rehabilitation program in 2022. She plans to begin her acupuncture designation in the near future, as well as dry needling.

I had the appointment for a current issue, but went in needing treatment for a new issue. Ashley quickly adapted, added all the right questions and provided relief with treatment. Thanks
