Recreational exercise is an important aspect of Ashley’s life, and it has naturally led her to a fulfilling career in physiotherapy. She spent the first decade of her profession in a rural hospital setting and, as she worked with patients striving to be discharged from the hospital, she gained valuable experience with difficult orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and a variety of complex and chronic medical conditions. At Okotoks Physical Therapy, Ashley focuses on helping clients return to the activities that they enjoy, and she understands that the body requires activity to stay healthy and pain free. Ashley recognizes that recovery from a surgery or injury requires hard work, perseverance, and patience, but she also knows that the journey is worth the effort. Ashley strives to help her clients understand their injury, and she provides individualized guidance and encouragement to her clients throughout their rehabilitation and recovery. Ashley graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, and she completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2008. Furthermore, she has completed post-graduate education courses in manual therapy techniques and vestibular rehabilitation, and has obtained certification to perform acupuncture and dry needling. Ashley has also become a certified instructor for the GLA:D Canada program in order to offer classes to clients with osteoarthritis. Ashley enjoys living in Okotoks with her husband and two girls. They love going to the pool, riding bikes, skiing, and exploring the Sheep River pathways, although they also love cuddling up for family movie night.
