About Anneliese

I received my Master’s of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. But that’s just the piece of paper that allowed me to do what I wanted for many years. I work as a Registered Psychotherapist with individual children, adolescents, and adults. My main area of focus is complex trauma which can include anxiety, depression, panic, chronic pain, among others. I approach all my work from a relationship-oriented lens. The late Maya Angelou said, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” This is one of the driving forces I have when working as a therapist. I hope to help individuals move from their current state to live life with greater freedom and hopefully move towards living a full life. I do this by building a relationship with each client and helping them uncover their own potential. I draw from different modalities depending on what is needed. Among other approaches, I apply Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interoceptive Exposure Therapy and Attachment Theory. Making the choice to take the step to reach out and ask for help can take great courage. I endeavour to respond to that courage with a genuine interest in meeting you wherever you are in your life and walk with you towards healing. I consider it my sincere privilege and honour to be trusted with details about your life. I am here to listen. I look forward to hearing from you.
